Mr. Reed

Micheal (yes, spelled with "ea" not "ae") Reed, my mentor, guide, and essentially the grandfather I never had. I've been constantly reminding myself to email you and see how you're doing. I don't know why but you've been popping up in my head a lot. I kept forgetting and pushing the deed back, but today, I did it. I emailed you and told you about how I'm doing. Now I'm hoping you'll reply back.

Because of your old age and your unstable health, concerns keep finding themselves running through my head. I really hope you're doing well and keeping yourself busy. I hope your diet is stable and you and your family are healthy and happy. I really miss your positive feedback and your hilariously subtle jokes. You were and will always be the greatest mentor I've ever had.

The greatest thing you said that has evolved into my favorite quote is:
"When the going get tough, the tough get going."

I've lived a lot of my life attempting to fulfill this quote. You've really impacted my life and I am forever indebted.
