Today seemed like a velvety day. So, I made Red Velvet cupcakes from scratch with homemade cream cheese frosting.
IT WAS SO GOOD!!! The cake was super moist and tasted deliciously chocolatey but not too overpowering. I've always hated store bought cream cheese frosting so I decided to make my own. It turned out phenomenal. I was able to control the sugar content in it and it turned out great-even Mark approved (he's super picky about sweets)
Decorating it was really fun also. I used a piping bag to pipe some swirls along with dots and other silly things. I added fresh flowers for a sophisticated touch. :)
All in all, I am super happy with how it turned out. I'll definitely be making more of these and possibly even trying it in cake form!
